Muyil and Sian Ka´an

Muyil near Tulum is not a big Archaeological site, but it can be nice if you combine it with a jungle trek in the Sian Ka´an Reserve. First, we started by exploring the Archaeological site following the Sacbe (which means white road in Maya) -The entrance to Muyil is 40 pesos per person (free for permanent residents and Mexicans on sundays)-  and then continued our adventure on a jungle trek with the access of the Sian Ka´an Reserve from a trail behind the main Pyramid. The cost of the Sian Ka´an reserve is 50 pesos for adults and free for children. On that trail, there is an observation tower you can climb and you will see many signs along the trail identifying different trees of the area. If you want to do a boat tour the cost is 300 pesos per person; children and adults. Some of the Mayan guides speak English.  The best part for us was the jungle trek. It was great to hear all the different birds and sounds of nature.

Muyil no es un sitio arqueologico  muy grande pero si lo combinan con una visita de la Reserva de Siaan Ka´an puede ser una buena idea. (40 pesos para Muyil; gratis los domingos para mexicanos y residentes) El costo de acceso de la Reserva de Sian Ka´an es de 50 pesos por adultos y gratis para los niños.Se puede entrar a la reserva por un camino atras de la piramide principal. En el camino hay una torre que se puede subir y hay muchos letreros que identifican los arboles de la región. Si quieren hacer un paseo en lancha es 300 pesos por persona y dura 1h30 min. Nos gusto poder caminar en la naturaleza oyendo todos sus ruidos. Fue una aventura muy linda en familia y a los niños les encantó.

Pyramid of Positive Thinking

Today our journey took us to Tulum to visit the Pyramid of Positive Thinking.  Located in the Aldea Zama, the project was started on the full moon of January 9th 2012 and is now half full.  It´s a Pyramid where people contribute in the construction by bringing positive thoughts in a PET bottle . (Good for a little writing practice at the same time) The pyramid has a height of 12 meters by 12 meters on each side. When full the pyramide will have over a million positive thoughts!

That´s a lot of good thoughts! You can take part in this project by bringing your Positive Thought every day between 9 am and 6 pm (Free entrance). It´s really nice to feel the energy and relax in this peaceful place.

Hoy fuimos a conocer la pirámide del pensamiento Positivo en Tulum. Esta ubicada en Aldea Zama y inició en la luna llena del 9 de enero 2012. Tiene una altura de 12 metros por 12 metros en cada uno de sus lados.Participa en la construcción trayendo tu pensamiento positivo en una botella PET. La pirámide puede contener hasta un million de pensamientos!!! Esta abierto de 9 am hasta las 6 pm todos los días y es de entrada libre. Es muy bonito sentir toda la energia positiva y relajarse en este lugar tan pacífico.

Deportiva Riviera Maya

If you are in the area and looking for a place to do sports, go to the Deportiva Unidad Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen you can play baseball, tennis, soccer (different fields with natural and artificial grass for futbol rapido), basketball , boxing. You will find Archery classes for children and adults and swimming classes for children at the Olympic pool. You can do bird watching (lots of beautiful birds),take a lovely walk. The kids can run free in the walking trail and enjoy the bike path. Go check it out!!! It´s located Near Avenida Universidad
